Tragedy
I saw her from across the room,
And in her hand was a broom,
Bent over sweeping up,
The broken pieces of her heart,
It was in a place like this,
Forty years back amidst,
The same sweaty crowd,
Swinging to the music so loud,
Where they first met,
Where they last met,
In the middle of the night,
Under the moonlight,
They were in each others arm,
When suddenly he came to harm,
A revengeful bullet to the head,
From a girl he forcefully bed,
In a drunken stupor,
In an earlier hour,
As he bled profusely,
She held him lovingly,
For the last time,
As she cried in pain,
He muttered an apology,
As he slowly faded away,
Eventually shutting his eyes,
Effectively cutting ties,
With the world,
His body cold,
At that moment,
You could almost hear,
The clear ring,
Of her heart breaking,
And ever since,
She haunted the place,
Trying to pick up,
